{"id":39,"date":"2019-12-15T08:01:58","date_gmt":"2019-12-15T08:01:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ltee.aegean.gr\/comput\/?page_id=39"},"modified":"2022-11-04T15:32:22","modified_gmt":"2022-11-04T13:32:22","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ltee.aegean.gr\/comput\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"background-color: #f4f6fc;\">\n<div class=\"bg-container\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ltee.aegean.gr\/comput\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2019\/12\/header_img-2.jpg\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"page-container\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">The main idea of the project<\/h2>\n<p>The project \u201cComputational Thinking at School\u201d aims to <b>integrate computational thinking in the secondary educational practice<\/b> and <b>train teachers to uptake its pedagogical potential<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The <span class=\"bold-text\">high impact of Computer Science in science, economy and society,<\/span> has increased the dialogue about the role of Computational Thinking in education.<\/p>\n<p>Wing in 2006 recognized Computational Thinking as a <span class=\"bold-text\">fundamental competency that all literate citizens<\/span> should develop through compulsory education, to complement the three other core skills, that is, reading, writing and mathematics.<\/p>\n<p>The integration of Computer Science and Computational Thinking in general education is an <b>imperative issue<\/b> that should attract the interest of the education community and educational policy makers.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"bold-text\">The project addresses the Computational Thinking integration by professional development of the teachers in the interdisciplinary approach of Computer Science through all the school subjects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The role of teachers is crucial in understanding of Computational Thinking as this is depicted in <b>learning activities<\/b> they design so <span class=\"bold-text\">training in learning design of interdisciplinary Computational Thinking scenarios will be a main focus point in the project<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"main-white-container\">\n<div class=\"page-container\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">The Partners<\/h2>\n<p>The project is initiated by <span class=\"bold-text\">Directorate of Secondary Education in the Dodecanese<\/span>, public authority for education at regional level. <span class=\"bold-text\">Laboratory of Learning Technology and Educational Engineering (LTEE)<\/span> from the University of Aegean designs and implements the pedagogical part of the project.<\/p>\n<div class=\"counting-numbers\">\n<div class=\"number-content\" style=\"margin-top: 80px;\">\n<div class=\"number\">\n<h1 id=\"years\">0<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<h4>years project<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"number-content\">\n<div class=\"number\">\n<h1 id=\"events\">0<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<h4>training events<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"counting-numbers\" style=\"margin-left: -5px;\">\n<div class=\"number-content\">\n<div class=\"number\">\n<h1 id=\"schools\">0<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<h4>schools in Europe<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"number-content\">\n<div class=\"number\">\n<h1 id=\"teachers\">0<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<h4>teachers will be trained<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"background-color: #f4f6fc; padding: 20px; box-shadow: 0px 5px 10px 0px rgba(0,0,0,0.15);\">There are <span class=\"bold-text\">six public Secondary schools<\/span> joining the training course and will pilot learning scenarios in their classes:<br \/>\n<span class=\"bold-text\" style=\"font-size: x-large;\">\u2022\u00a0<\/span><b>Three schools<\/b> from different islands in <b>Greece (Rodos and Kos)<\/b><br \/>\n<span class=\"bold-text\" style=\"font-size: x-large;\">\u2022\u00a0<\/span><b>One school<\/b> from <b>Tenerife island in Spain<\/b><br \/>\n<span class=\"bold-text\" style=\"font-size: x-large;\">\u2022\u00a0<\/span><b>One school<\/b> from <b>Lisbon in Portugal<\/b><br \/>\n<span class=\"bold-text\" style=\"font-size: x-large;\">\u2022\u00a0<\/span><b>One school<\/b> from <b>Bergen in Norway<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The partner schools have <b>prior cooperation in other Erasmus projects<\/b> and have <b>focused on Computational literacy and Computer Enhanced Learning<\/b> among their scope of interest.<\/p>\n<p>It is expected that through the <b>three year project<\/b> about <b>80 teachers (15 per school)<\/b> will be trained and actively involved.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"bold-text\">Read more<\/span> details at the <a href=\"http:\/\/ltee.aegean.gr\/comput\/?page_id=465\">Partners page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"page-container\" style=\"margin-top: 20px; margin-bottom: 20px;\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">The Training<\/h2>\n<p>The project will organize <b>short term staff training events<\/b> in each partner organization.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the events is to <span class=\"bold-text\">study the key dimensions of Computational Thinking<\/span> and to <span class=\"bold-text\">produce, evaluated and commented, learning scenarios collections<\/span> for all dimensions in the secondary level of education.<\/p>\n<p>You can <span class=\"bold-text\">find more details<\/span> for the training events of the project at the <a href=\"http:\/\/ltee.aegean.gr\/comput\/?page_id=13\">Training Schedule page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"main-white-container\">\n<div class=\"page-container\">\n<p><!--\n\n\n<div class=\"text-element-middle\">\n\n--><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">The aims of the project<\/h2>\n<p>The project has the following main aims<\/p>\n<div class=\"text-element-container\">\n<div class=\"text-element text-element-25 sliding-object\" style=\"margin-left: 12.4%; left: 100px; transition: 1s;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ltee.aegean.gr\/comput\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2019\/12\/online_course.png\" \/><br \/>\nTo develop and implement an online training course using the pedagogical model of <span class=\"bold-text\">online learning community<\/span> for teachers at partner schools on the scope and conceptualization of Computational Thinking at classroom level through learning design.<\/div>\n<p><!--\n\n\n<div class=\"text-element text-element-25 sliding-object\" style=\"left: 250px;
