Erasmus plus KA 201 “CompuT” “Computational Thinking at School” Project code: 2019-1-EL01-KA201-062883

Second LTTA held in Portugal from 15 to 19 November 2021

The second face-to-face meeting for the Erasmus + CA201 project “Computational thinking at school” was successfully held in Lisbon from 15 to 19 November 2021. The general coordination and overall supervision of the meeting was held by the Agrupamento de Escolas de São João da Talha while the meeting was attended by representatives of all 8 educational partners of the project – institutions and schools – from Greece, Spain, Portugal and Norway.

On Monday, 15/11/2021 a visit was made to the hosting school, during which there was a tour of the laboratories and other premises of the school. After a short coffee break, the charge was taken by the University of Aegean team with the presentation of the CT scenarios that have been developed so far and are included in the CT Integration  guide for teachers. In addition, the teachers from the Instituto de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria El Sobradillo, Tenerife presented an experiment with a parachute and a drone that they had carried out with a group of students.

The next day, the participants visited the Institute of Education of the University of Lisbon and more specifically, a future lab (Makerspace digital lab), where a lecture on Computational Thinking was given, followed by experimentation with rich equipment (ipad, osmo, Raspberry Pi, etc.).

On Wednesday, 17/11/2021 teachers from the hosting school held 2 workshops with activities that promote algorithmic approach to problem solving, utilizing robotic kits such as mBot, micro:bit, arduino-one and EV3 (Lego).

On Thursday 18/11/2021, participants had sessions on Computational Thinking by teachers at Agrupamento de Escolas de São João da Talha presenting their experiences from piloting learning scenarios at school.

On the last day of this training meeting, an assessment was made on the progress of the program so far, while specific goals and milestones were set. The appointment was renewed for next February on the island of Tenerife, while the invitation from the Spanish partners was sealed with a dancing class.
