Courses in Under-Graduate Program
LTEE laboratory faculty members belongs to the Sector of Didactics of Mathematics & Sciences and of Information and Communication Technologies in Education, of the Department of Sciences of Preschool Education and of Educational Design.
LTEE lab faculty members offer sixteen (16) courses, to the corresponding curricula of pre-graduate studies.
There are offered six (6) Core Courses (code YEOOn) that are mandatory. According to the curriculum, core courses should be attended at certain terms and are completed after successful examination. Core courses aim at getting all students acquainted with the principles and methodologies of the corresponding disciplines or the interdisciplinary fields. The main teaching method followed in core courses is lecturing, although it often includes laboratory training or written assignment. Core courses constitute prerequisites for other core courses of later terms, compulsory electives as well as the practicum courses.
Four (4) Compulsory Electives courses are offered (code YEOOOn). The goal of these courses is students to further investigate specific issues, concepts and methodologies of the disciplines. In accordance with this purpose, the main teaching method is seminar or workshop. Assessment may include written assignments or carrying out a small-scale research project. Should they fail to pass a compulsory elective, students may reenroll to the course (when available) or replace it with another compulsory elective course.
Four (4) Researh Courses are offered (code EΡΕΕOOn). A Research Course is a very interesting course category, where the students have the unique opportunity (in a pre-graduate level) to be engaged in research design and research methodology application. They have to study research papers, to reflect on research ethics rules, to participate in the research design, to fully apply parts of a research methodology (data collection, data analysis, research results etc.), while students work in various collaborative modes.
Three (3) Practicum/Field Experience Courses are offered (Code ΠΡ20n). A Field Experience Course is an essential part of the education offered by our department, enriching pre-graduate students with real school context conditions teaching practice. During these courses, students are guided and supported to conceive, design, apply, reflect and evaluate new learning activities for young students, which are accompanied by tangible educational material (natural and/or digital ones).
It is to be noted that all courses take place in the buildings of the School of Humanities, they need the physical presence of students, while most of them, they are in parallel supported by Moodle platform for course material presentation, assignments application, communication between professors and students etc.
