Prof. Fragiskos (Francois) Kalavassis is a Mathematician with advanced studies in Didactics of Disciplines- Mathematics. (DEA, UER des Mathematiques, University Paris 7, 1982, PhD, Department of Mathematics, University of Athens, 1987). He has been teaching at the University of the Aegean since 1989. He has published about 100 scientific papers in Greek and International journals, he has edited 15 scientific books and directed international research programs, and he is the Chief Editor of the international scientific journal “Journal for Mathematics in Education”. Prof. Angelique Dimitracopoulou, Director of LTEE lab, holds a degree in Physics’ Sciences (Univ. of Patras), a Master in Sciences’ Education and PhD in Information and Communication Technologies in Education (Université Paris 7- Denis Diderot). She is the author of more than 150 scientific publications related mostly to the: (i) Design of technology-based learning environments (ii) Human agents support and Constructionist Learning Activities (iii) Educational Policy on ICTs in Education. During the previous decade, she has been intensively working on the field of Learning Analytics for Self-Regulation support. She is member of scientific associations and boards and she is highly experienced in national and EC-funded research projects. Prof. Sonia Kafoussi is a Mathematician (Department of Mathematics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, 1990) and holds a Phd in Didactics of Mathematics (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, 1995). She has published a lot of scientific articles in International and Greek journals and conferences. She is a co-author of scientific Greek books and a coeditor of International and Greek scientific books and Proceedings. She is a member of scientific associations and editorial boards. Prof. Chrysanthi Skoumpourdi works on the field of “Didactics of Mathematics: Designing Educational Material”. She has published scientific papers in International and Greek journals, in proceedings of International and Greek Conferences, on websites, as well as in International and Greek collective volumes. She is the author of two scientific books and co-author of two others. She has participated in scientific research programs and is a member of scientific associations and a member of scientific journals’ editorial board. Prof. Georgios Fessakis, holds a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. from the Informatics and Telecommunications department of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has also and a PhD in Informatics Didactics from the University of the Aegean where he serves as an associate professor. Dr. Georgios Kritikos holds a B.Sc. in Physics and a M.Sc. in “Electronic Physics and Radioelectrology (Telecommunications)” from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He also holds a M.Ed. in “Modeling Design and Development of Educational Units” and a Ph.D. in Didactics of Physics using ICT from University of the Aegean. He was Science Teacher (2005-2017) and director of the “Centre of Science Laboratory of Southern Dodecanese” (2014-2017) at the secondary education. He is a post-doc researcher (since 2016) at the University of the Aegean and he works as member of Laboratory Teaching Staff (since 2017) of the Learning Technology and Educational Engineering laboratory. PhD Students

Katerina Baziakou holds a B.Sc. in Primary Education and Teaching from the Department of Primary Education (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki ) and a M.Sc.in Design of Interactive and Industrial Products and Systems (University of Aegean).At this time, she is a PhD student in University of the Aegean and a member of the Learning Technology and Educational Engineering Laboratory (LTEE). Her research interests include technology enhanced learning, augmented reality, and science education. She is working as a teacher at the 4th Experimental Elementary School of Hermoupolis in Syros.
Konstantina Frantzeskaki holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-School Education from the Department of Pre-School Education Sciences and Educational Design (University of Aegean).  She also holds two Master’s Degree, the first in “Education Sciences – Education with the use of new technologies” and the second one in “Didactics of Mathematics, Science and Information and Communication Technologies in Education: Interdisciplinary Approach”, from the University of Aegean. At this time, she is Phd Student in University of Aegean and member of Learning Technology and Educational Engineering Laboratory (LTEE). Her research interests concern the mathematical education, technology enhanced learning, instructional design and learning design. Furthermore, she is a children’s book writer. She is working as a pre-school teacher in pre-school education in public school since 2020.
Dimitrios Lappas holds a Bachelor’s Degree from “Preschool Education and Educational Design” Department of the University of the Aegean and a Master’s Degree in “Models of Educational Planning and Development” of the University of the Aegean. He has also graduated from the Hellenic Army Academy and works as an army officer. Now he serves in Hellenic Air Force Academy as a military instructor. He currently is a PhD student in University of the Aegean and his research interests include the enhancement of creative thinking with the use ICT and decision making under uncertainty in dilemmas.
Anastasia Michalopoulou is a primary school teacher (Department of Primary Education, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens,1998). She holds a Master’s Degree in Mathematics in Education issued by the Department of Primary Education (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, 2000) and a Master’s Degree in Information and Communication Technologies in Education issued by the Department of Early Childhood Education (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens,2011). Her main research interests are related to issues of mathematical discourse- students’ understanding of data and statistical prediction- in school and family settings.
Alexandra Papamargariti holds a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. from the Informatics and Telecommunications department of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens. Also, holds a M.Ed. from the University of the Aegean. At this time she is Phd student in University of the Aegean and member of Learning Technology and Educational Engineering Laboratory (LTEE). Her main research interests include Computer Science Education, Computational Thinking, STEM learning projects and Learning Analytics. She is working as a computer science teacher in secondary public schools since 2009.

 

Research Associates

Assistant Prof. Andreas Moutsios-Rentzos (Department of Primary Education, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) holds a PhD and MSc in Mathematics Education (University of Warwick) and a Ptychio in Mathematics (4-year BSc, National and Kapodestrian University of Athens). His university teaching experience includes postgraduate and undergraduate courses related to Mathematics Education, to Interdisciplinary Approaches in Mathematics and Science Education and to Research Methods in Education in the University of the Aegean, the University of Athens, the University of the Thessaly and the University of Patras. Dr. Petros Chaviaris holds a PhD in Mathematics Education from the University of the Aegean. He is a teacher in a public primary school in Athens and he was the school director of the 3rd Primary School of N. Psychico (2007-2015). He has been a member of LTEE lab since 2000, has participated in several research projects and has published scientific articles in International and Greek journals and conferences. Dr. Katerina Fragkiadoulaki holds a BA in French Studies (National & Kapodistrian University of Athens), a D.E.A. in Didactics of Languages and Cultures (Université Sorbonne-Nouvelle) and a D.E.S.S. in Educational Engineering (Université Pierre et Marie Curie. She holds a PhD from the University of the Aegean on learning design and multimodal communication in networked environments. Her main research interests include Multimodality in Education and Communication, Multiliteracies, Digital Multimodal Composition, ICT in Language Teaching/Learning and Learning Design. She is teaching French in public secondary schools since 2005.
Dr. Georgios Errikos Hlapanis holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from University of Crete and a PhD in “ICTs based Learning Communities and matters of training teachers in ICT”, from the University of the Aegean. He is an Informatics Teacher and the Headteacher of the 2nd Lyceum of Kos/ High School (since 2011). He has been a member of LTEE lab since 2001, has been cooperating with the Univ. of the Aegean since 2006, with the Hellenic Open University since 2008 (teaching in Master of Education [MEd] programs and supervising MEd dissertations) and with the Open University of Cyprus since 2017 (supervising MEd dissertations). Dr. Irene Ioannidou holds a B.Sc. in Pedagogies (Department of Sciences of Pre-School Education and of Educational Design, School of Humanities, University of the Aegean), a PhD in Information & Communication Technologies and Education (University of Aegean, 2007) and a diploma of Scientific Specialization Program in Special Education (2013). She has published scientific articles in International and Greek journals and conferences. She is a Collaborating Researcher and a scientific member in LTEE Lab since 2000. Her research interests lie on the fields of Collaborative learning, mobile technology, ICTs for learning in Early and Primary education, design of technology based learning activities, STEAM, etc. She had been involved to Teaching to Educators’ Trainers for pre-school and primary school teachers at Universities’ Training Centers. Dr. Maria Koza holds a B.Sc. in Pedagogics in Pedagogical Department of Elementary Education of the University of Aegean, a M.Sc with title “Education Sciences – Education with the use of new technologies” from the same University, a diploma of Scientific Specialization Program in Special Education (Didaskaleio: “Alexandros Delmouzos”) and a PhD on Mathematics Education “Investigation of active touch techniques of visually impaired Primary School students in the process of finding the area of rectangular surfaces” (January 2022, LTEE lab, University of the Aegean). Currently, she is a member of Learning Technology and Educational Engineering Laboratory (LTEE). Her main research interests include mathematics education for students with Special Needs especially for students with Visual Impairments and tactile material for blind students in Mathematics. She is working as a teacher in an elementary school since 2002.

Dr. Kostas Kozas holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and Sports Science and a Master’s Degree in “Models of Educational Planning and Development” from the University of the Aegean. He also holds a Ph.D. (University of the Aegean) in learning design with the use of digital technologies in the field of education for the environment and sustainability. At the moment he is a physical education teacher in secondary school.
Dr. Dimitris Markouzis holds a B.Sc. in Informatics and a M.Sc. in Informatics on the topic of Software from University of Ioannina. He holds a Phd from the University of the Aegean. His main research interests include game based learning and the use of serious games and augmented reality in learning and teaching process. He is working as a computer science teacher in secondary public schools since 2006 and as an active researcher in LTEE Lab, publishing several articles in Greek and international conferences.
Dr. Evagelos Mokos is a teacher and from 2011 is a Head teacher in the 50th Primary School of Athens. He holds a M.Ed. in “History and Philosophy of Mathematics” from the University of Athens and a Ph.D. in Didactics of Mathematics from University of the Aegean. He has been a member of LTEE lab since 2006. He gives lectures to Universities in Russian Federation. Dr. Ioannis Noulis holds a M.Sc. in Mathematics in Education – Didactics of Mathematics (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, 2008) and PhD in Didactics of Mathematics (University of the Aegean, 2014). Dr. Stelios Orfanos holds a PhD in Science Education from the University of the Aegean, a MSc in Electronic automation and a Ptychio in Physics (4-year BSc, National and Kapodestrian University of Athens). He is a School Advisor in the Region of Dodekanesa, since 2007. His professional interests concern the integration of new technologies and educational material in teaching and research on teachers’ professional development.
Dr. Argeroula Petrou holds a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. from the Informatics and Telecommunications department of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has also and a PhD in Special Education and Informatics Didactics from the University of the Aegean where she serves as an associate researcher. Dr. Stavroula Prantsoudi holds a PhD in Computer Science Education (University of the Aegean), a MEd in Interdisciplinary Education (University of the Aegean), a Master’s in Information Systems (University of Macedonia), and a BSc in Computer Science (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki). She is an active member of the LTEE Laboratory, where she has participated in several research projects and scientific activities. She has also published scientific articles in international and Greek journals and conferences. Her research interests lie in the fields of Computer Science Education, Computational Thinking, Teachers’ Training and Professional Development, Interdisciplinarity in Education, Curricula Design, and Artificial Intelligence. Since 2003, she has been serving as a Computer Science teacher in Greek public schools.
Dr. Angeliki Tsampouraki holds a M.Sc. in Mathematics in Education, (History & Philosophy of Mathematics), of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She holds a PhD on Mathematics Education “The perceptions of students of compulsory education about the concept of infinity”. (March, 2022, LTEE lab, University of the Aegean). Currently, she is a member of Learning Technology and Educational Engineering Laboratory (LTEE), as well as a primary school teacher in public educational system.
Dr. Georgia Vaitsidi holds a B.Sc. in Pedagogics in Pedagogical Department of Elementary Education of the University of Aegean (2012) and a M.Sc with title “Children’s book and educational material” oriented to “Educational Material” in Department of Pre-school Education and Educational Design of the same University (2015). Her title of the Matser’s Thesis was: “Children 8-9 years old compare, estimate and measure areas using educational material.” She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Aegean and a member of Learning Technology and Educational Engineering Laboratory (LTEE). Her research interests include among others the use and effectiveness of inquiry based method and the conditions of using educational material in teaching mathematics and especially Geometry. She is working as a teacher in an elementary school since 2016.
Dr. Stamatia Volika holds a PhD in Educational and Learning Design (completed with full scholarship by the State Scholarships Foundation) and a MEd in «Children’s Book and Educational Material» (Educational Material orientation), both granted by the Department of Preschool Education Sciences and Educational Design (University of the Aegean) and a B.Sc in Primary Education and Teaching from the Department of Primary Education (University of the Aegean) She is a member of the Learning Technology and Educational Engineering Laboratory (LTEE). Her research interests include educational design, learning design, e-learning, technology enhanced learning, and teachers’ training.

Natassa Kamenidou is E.T.E.P. member (Special Technical Laboratory Staff) at the Learning Technology and Educational Engineering Laboratory at Department of Sciences for Pre-school Education and Educational Design (T.E.P.A.E.S.), University of the Aegean. She offers administrative support in educational and research activities, as well as in scientific events organisation support. She is member of the organizing committee in numerous conferences of LTEE lab.
